Protest against water shortage in Jamshoro area

Sindh University colony, Mehran University colony, Liaquat Medical University colony, Thermal power house colony, wapda colony, RBB colony, Jamshoro colony,Jamshoro  Phattak, is facing acute water shortage, President, Shah Latif welfare association ,  (SHALWA) Kamrade  Josheelo Sindhi said. ‘Generally potable water is made available in whole area  but around two and half months have passed and there are no signs of it putting citizen in a quandary over as how to  run their hime and business.”

Water shortage has left up to 450,000 galleons barren in the district which may lead to food crisis and put at stake the livelihood of 150,000 citizen if immediate action was taken, he said.

“We are with Ghulam Rasool  and 15 other young man  who are on hunger strike since last 47 hours and no one from the government cared to contact them for resolving the matter.”

They also demanded of the government to give proper focus on issues of residence of Jamshoro reforms and provide other facilities such as healthcare and basic education for their children.

Landlords are usurping the rights of poor farmers by drawing water and leaving tail-end areas parched.

Representatives of civil society were also present.
